My practice springs from an engagement with the heterogeneity of ‘nature’ and ‘culture’, as I view them to be inextricably interconnected. This idea threads through my artworks, whether they be inspired by biological processes in nature or a response to constructed frameworks involving nature, as in my environmental land art works.  A significant element in my process involves researching historic lineages, in particular of materials and place. These investigations go on to inform both my studio-based artworks as well as landscape-located sculptures.
