Message from the Director
 Welcome
to the 29th annual Mildura Jazz, Food and Wine Festival. Along
with Arts Mildura and Assistant Festival Director, Erin Hoye,
I am delighted to present this years’ program bringing
together a rich history and new directions.
The great thing about Festivals is that they give us the opportunity to welcome
back old favourites and a chance to discover something new.
The 2008 program, developed in conjunction with the River City Jazz Club and
a new enthusiastic committee, does just that with Festival stalwarts such as
Maryborough Jazz Band and Loose Goose along with favourites E Type Jazz, joining
fresh new groups such as Jane Little and the Mood Swings, Songbook Trio and Take
Four Swing Jazz Quartet.
The highlight of the 2008 program is the introduction of the Jazz Ball where
we hope you will join us to turn back the clocks and frock up for a vintage night
of music, dancing, special performances, prizes and something to remember.
Also keep a look out for the Eat Drink and Dance project we have developed to
open your senses to the taste of regional food and wines in our restaurants throughout
the month of November.
We gratefully acknowledge support from Tourism Victoria, Mildura Rural City Council,
La Trobe University and Arts Victoria who along with our many regional sponsors,
enable the Festival to present a vibrant program which locals and visitors love.
I urge you to take a look at the program here and on the website and to circle
madly, choose wisely then join us and your friends for three days of jazz, food,
wine and fun.
