Mirko commenced his study of the accordion with F. Visentin and continued at the “A. Steffani” Conservatorium of Castelfranco Veneto where he studied with Professor Ivano Paterno.
Graduating with first class honours and the highest marks, he won two scholarships and continued his studies with the guidance of the maestri, Sergio Scappini, Hugo Noth and Wladimir Zubitsky. While at the conservatorium, he also completed a brilliant major in oboe studies with Prof. Paolo Brunello. He has won numerous national and international prizes for accordionist including the Soroptimist International award for the best new graduate of music in Italy.
Mirko Satto is very active as a performer with chamber groups and orchestral groups throughout Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Holland, Bulgaria and Australia. Eclectic accordionist, Mirko Satto performs programs from Baroque to contemporary and to the tango of Astor Piazzolla.
He has collaborated as accordionist with the “Philharmonic Orchestra” of Veneto,the “Orchestra of Olimpic theatre” in Vicenza and with the “Orchestra dell'Arena” in Verona and returns to Australia for a summer tour in 2008.
