Confirmed guests include Stephen Sartarelli, France; Kate Jennings, New York; Robert Gray, Don Watson, Morag Fraser and Les Murray along with a high profile chef for the Saturday dinner plus many more great Australian authors to ensure a continued reputation as one of the finest literary festivals in the country.

Our Festival has a reputation for being one of the most convivial writers’ events in the country and in no small way that is due to the passion and hard work of many people.

It is my great pleasure to be part of this Festival. My deepest thanks go to all those involved. From those behind the scenes, (the committee, staff, audiences and supporters) but most especially the writers themselves.

We acknowledge our highly valued partners and sponsors, most particularly Arts Victoria, the Australia Council for the Arts and our Education Partners La Trobe University. The 2010 program will be online in February 2010.

The Mildura Writers Festival is once again pleased to welcome a varied and stellar group of writers to this, our sixteenth annual gathering. As in years past, the friendly warmth of Mildura itself provides the backdrop for what is always a memorable weekend of literary performance and lively talk.

As we celebrate the work of these wonderful writers, we also thank our audiences for the contribution they make to the success of the Festival. Without you our Festival would not have developed its reputation as one of Australia’s finest and most enjoyable literary occasions.
