Mildura Writers Festival

Held in July, the Mildura Writers Festival presents four days of words, food and wine - featuring Australian & International writers.

Beginning in 1994 in Stefano de Pieri’s cellar restaurant, this event has evolved to be acclaimed as among the finest literary festivals in the country. A reputation earnt because of its literary qualities, the calibre of talent it attracts and the atmosphere of conviviality presented during the provincial Victorian winter.

Invited guests and audience members intermingle freely sharing an experience that provides thoughtful and challenging ideas about writing and literature in general. Providing much needed cultural enrichment for remote and regional audiences, it’s little wonder this inspiring Festival attracts return visitors year after year.

Arts Mildura would like to acknowledge the Latji Latji, Nyeri Nyeri, Ngintait, and Wergaia people as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, along with their neighbours the Barkindji, Maraura, Mutti Mutti, Tatti Tatti and Wotjabaluk people.

We pay our respects to each of these communities and to their elders past and present.
